Japanese Shinto Mala (Ruby)

330.00

Our malas are inspired by Tibetan prayer beads. All of the malas come in 3 sizes & are adjustable & convertible. They can be worn as a 5 wrap bracelet, long necklace or double necklace. The clasp is hidden off to the side. Each mala is differentiated by, not only its beadwork, but by its pendant.

The Japanese Shinto Mala is comprised of black agate, ruby colored lambskin, small fishbones cast in sterling silver & coconut wood beads. The piece is also accented with a large palm wood bead. Its pendant is etched with text taken from a Japanese Shinto prayer. Shinto is one of the main religions in Japan (along side Buddhism) & its focus is on ritual practices & establishing a connection between present day & the past.

Small wrap bracelet approx. 6.25"-6.75" (Necklace approx. 34"), Medium wrap bracelet approx. 6.75"-7.25" (Necklace approx. 37"), Large wrap bracelet approx. 7.25"-7.75" (Necklace approx. 39.5").
